Faq number 1

Q. What materials do you use?

A. Our most popular product is black granite. However we have an extensive range of granite colours as well as producing plaques in slate and white marble. All our plaques are individually handcrafted from original materials; we do not use reconstituted or cast material.

Q. What options do I have for fonts and colours of numbers and letterings?

A. We are able to produce numbers and letters in an extensive range of fonts. The letters and numbers are hand painted and available in a wide range of colours. The most common colours are gold, silver, white and bronze.

Q. Are the numbers stuck on?

A. All numbering and lettering is engraved in to the stone. All plaques are individually made by a time served stonemason. Once the numbers and/or letters have been engraved the characters are painted by hand for a perfect finish.

Q. What maintenance is required?

A. The reality is not much. All our products leave our factory sealed and finished. Generally speaking a wipe over with a damp soapy cloth is all that is needed. Over a period of years exposure to the elements may lead to some deterioration. We sell a range of products that will help bring back the factory finish. Our experts are always available to provide answers to any stone related question.

Q. How long does it normally take from ordering to delivery?

A. Generally speaking it normally takes two weeks from us receiving an order to it leaving the factory and arriving on your doorstep. Remember all plaques are made to order and hand made by craftsman.

Q. How are the plaques fixed to the wall?

A. Plaques are normally supplied with fixing holes and can be fixed with round headed dome caps to hide the screws. Smaller plaques have two fixing hole and the larger plaques have four. You can also order hidden fixings where dowels are drilled into the back of plaque, which then need to be fixed into predrilled holes using a resin based adhesive.
